Paul describes the sermon as: A person might anchor a helium balloon so it doesn’t float away. The Greeks and Romans, in Jesus’ time, were using anchors to hold boats in place. Hebrews 6:19-20 tells us that Jesus has gone beyond the temple veil for us and is our anchor to hold our soul in God. Our anchor in Christ secures us from backsliding from God as is warned against in chapter 6. .
