January 2nd, 2016 – Sermon on “Friend or Foe” by Mickey Banda

March 28th, 2015 – Sermon on “The Cup” by Mickey Banda

Mickey BandaMickey Banda’s sermon “The Cup” started with Indiana Jones, the Knights Templar, and his coffee cup collection. Mickey then proceeded to explain the relevance of these things in view of the Lord’s Supper. Some notable quotes are: ” What’s in the Cup?”, “Why doesn’t He want to drink it?”, “Sin was in the Cup”. And “Daddy, where are you?”

December 20th, 2014 – Sermon on “Cry Out” by Mickey Banda

Mickey Banda’s sermon on “Cry Out – Five things we learn from Newborns” was about how we need to cry out to God for our every need.  He made 5 points based on newborn babies’ needs and used his testimony about his own children and an advertisement video from Huggies to illustrate his points.

Mickey Banda’s sermon on “Courage” included many anecdotes and family stories that he used to illustrate the point that “Courage is action in the presence of fear”.  Notable quotes were: “When does it (courage) happen, how does it come about?” and “Mickey BandaWe have a reason to fear, but we have a reason to be courageous”.

Mickey Banda’s sermon on “Kaux-wah Knee Malh” centered on a contrast between the healing of the woman with a hemorrhage and the bringing of life back to the daughter of Jairus, an official at the synagogue, both found in Luke 8:40-56. Mickey mixed these incidents with a modern report of a bible translator working in Bolivia with the Quechua speaking indigenous people and their fascination with the story of the woman with a hemorrhage.

April 6th, 2013 – Sermon on “Handcuffed” by Mickey Banda

Mickey Banda’s sermon on “Handcuffed” started with comparing the Spring of the year with the Day of Atonement and focused on the comparison of Jesus and Barabas. Mickey used the handcuffs illustration to bring out the captivity that sin keeps people in.

Mickey Banda’s sermon “Unbroken” included parts of his testimony mixed with scripture readings about the nature of bones and the healing of Jesus Christ.  Mickey exhorted us to Leave the broken bones behind and to Take our bones and become unbroken through Jesus Christ.

Mickey Banda’s sermon can be call ” One day in Your Courts” and centered on the concept of why God allows misfortune to happen to His children. Comparisions were made with his own children and how the children are so precious to the families.
