JodyJody McCoy’s sermon on “The Benevolence of God”  started out comparing value systems that we use in our lives and ended up with a testimony of the way God can move in our lives if we let Him. In between Jody elaborated on the way we make decisions and the way we ought to make them as Christians. His testimony related his experiences on a trip to and from Denver and Austin and how God provided many things including  a discussion about creation with his seatmates on the return flight. He thought that to be extremely relevant since he is writing a book on creation.

Jody McCoy’s sermon on “Jesus Restores Meaning”  built on the series of sermons he gave in 2012 named “Battle for the Soul”. Jody briefly summarized the series and then continued to make the case that we are not worth anything in physical terms, but our worth was established by Jesus when he paid for us with His Life. Jody finished with the concept that our free will offering of our lives in service to God is all we are able to give that has any value. He concluded with “Free will is the perfect gift”.

JodyJody used the following scriptures: Ez. 18:4, Rom. 5:8

Jody McCoy’s sermon on “The battle for the Soul” is the fourth part in a four-part series.  In this part Jody explained the difference between justice and Grace, and the difference between respect and Love. As with the other parts of the series, Jody went into fine detail explaining the concepts. A couple of phrases stand out: Humans are not good and any goodness is God in us, and We need to graduate from respect to Love.

Jody used the following scriptures:  Matt. 5:43-46, Ex. 3:24, John 3:3.
