John A. McCoy’s sermon on “The Starting Line” used the analogy of the master caution light in an airplane instrument panel to illustrate how we need to evaluate all the reasons causing spiritual alerts John Arnold McCoy croppedin our lives. He went on to describe the blessing of a new pastor as not the end of a cycle, but the starting line with new responsibilities and then went on to apply the starting line effect to our relationship with God on an everyday basis.

October 11th, 2014 – Talk on “Glory Days” by John Arnold McCoy

John Arnold McCoy’s talk on “Glory Days” focused on the highlights of his life, biblical highlights and spiritual highlights we should strive for. John Arnold considers his sermons to be talks and he adds humor to his observations. John Arnold McCoy’s sermon on “The Superbowl of your Salvation” used the analogy of a professional football team and cast major Biblical characters as quarterbacks.  Starting with Noah and Elijah, and Jesus, John Arnold kept score with God’s side keeping ahead. Running up to the final play of the series in Revelations, John Arnold reminded us that we needed to be committed to going out into the world and executing our assignments.
