March 16th, 2013 – Sermon on “The Art in us” by Matt Sanders

Matt Sanders’ sermon on “The Art in us” was also described by Matt as “We are God’s Art”. Matt started with some slides of great artwork with commentary about them. He continued to compare human art with God’s Art with emphasis on how we are beautiful when we are doing God’s Will.

Matt used the following scriptures: Gen. 1:27, Rom. 8:28, 1 Cor. 12:12-20, 1 Cor. 13, Matt. 22:37-40.

Matt is a member of the Conroe 7th Day COG and preaches from time to time upon request.

    Matt,
Thanks for sharing with us your knowledge and interest in art. The use of art as an example in your sermon was refreshing and I don’t remember hearing it used as such before. We are His creations and therefore made to His plan. That is accurately described as beautiful especially when we are in His Will. God bless you Matt, and keep you as you sojourn.

    Matt,
You miss us, Matt, but the feeling is mutual. We really do miss seeing you every Sabbath. God is good to give us this “family feeling”. I really did enjoy your sermon. The pictures of Art that you displayed made us more aware of the differences that we see in Art, as well as the differences God sees and celebrates in each one of us. If we could only recognize that we, too, should be blessed by our differences, that would be a major encouragement to us. God knew that we would need one another, so he planned it that way. Thank you for speaking to us. I’m sure that you are a blessing to those folks who you worship with. Our loss is their gain! Blessings on you, Matt.
    Gladys

    Matt,

I enjoyed your sermon, it revealed a lot of thoughtful preparation. I appreciated you speaking directly to the young people about their need to remember God’s art in each of them.

    John
