Michael Smith’s sermon on “A Father’s Example” started out with Michael explaining the positive influence his parents had on his formative years, especially his father. Michael read a testimony by Lorraine Carr about her father and then named most of the members of the church that had influenced him, most of whom had passed on by now. Michael admonished the young people to watch their associations and to develop character. He also challenged the church at large to touch someone’s life.
Michael used the following scriptures: 1 Tim. 6:11, Prov. 22:6

Michael,
Enjoyed your sermon entitled “A Father’s Example.” Your parents realized that they needed to be near a church in order that they, and their children, could benefit from attending church every Sabbath. This was the same decision my parents made when we were isolated members in Northern Wisconsin. When we make Godly choices, it makes all the difference in our lives, as well as our children’s lives. Sometimes we forget that we are always an example, whether it is a good example or a bad example. Children watch and desire our attention and love. May our church be a haven for them . . . May God bless you, Janet and your sons. You are a blessing to me.
Gladys
