Jan. 21, 2012 – Sermon on “Jesus: Great Thinker or Immanuel?” by Daniel Imrecke

The sermon “Jesus: Great Thinker or Immanuel?” by Daniel Imrecke focused on the concept that Jesus is either a fraud or the Son of God and nothing in between. Using the book of John as the source of much of the scriptual reference, Daniel wanted us to look at the scripture in red ink. Including quotes from CS Lewis in Mere Christianity and Bono, he left no doubt that the statements Jesus made either certified him as insane or what he said he was, the Son of God. The following scriptures were used:  John 7: 25-53, 8:58, 10:10-11, 14:16, 8:12, 12:46, 6:35, 4:14, 8:12, 12:46, 6:35, 4:14, 10:27-28, 15: 1,5:6:40, 11:25, 17:24.

  1. Jeana Kendrick says:

Daniel’s sermon was a targeted message that pointed to the divinty of Christ and refuted others’ claims that he was merely a great man or friend. I particulary enjoyed the Scriptures, the C.S. Lewis reference and the charts that Daniel presented.

  2. John Crisp says:

A most important question and our answer has eternal consequences.
    I enjoyed Daniel’s sermon.

  3. John Brann says:

I also enjoyed Daniel’s message two thumbs up!
