July 5th, 2014 – Sermon on “The Joy of Freedom and the Myth of Freedom” by Nathan Lawson

Nathan Lawson’s sermon on “The Joy of Freedom and the Myth of Freedom” was a consideration of how the freedom that we value as Americans must be subjugated to the Will of God. Nathan gave examples of his delight in the concept of freedom and his greater delight in giving that up in favor of following Jesus.

Nathan used the following scriptures: Ps. 24:1-2, Rom 3:23, 6:10-23, 14: 11-12, Josh 24:15

nathan2Some notable quotes were: “We have the freedom to choose which God to serve” and “My greatest joy is the freedom from sin”

A good sermon for the time of year. We all take our freedom for granted in one way or another. Same thing with Grace, we all too easily begin to consider it our “right”.
