Dec. 10, 2011 – Sermon on “Stepping into the Water with Jesus” by Nathan Lawson

Nathan Lawson’s sermon “Stepping into the Water with Jesus” was a call to baptism for all believers and was on the occasion of the baptism of Aaron Orrick which followed the sermon.  The sermon used the concept of how Jesus and John the Baptist had to fulfill all righteousness by John baptizing Jesus and completely covered the reasons and necessity for baptism and used the following scriptures: Mtt: 3-1-3, Matt 3:15, Acts 8:35, Acts 16:29-30, Acts 2:37-39, Rom 6:3-4.

Nathan Lawson is an Elder at the Conroe Church of God 7th Day and lives in Conroe, TX.  He is the recently retired pastor of the Conroe church and preaches upon request.

    Thanks for bringing us step by step through the baptism experience with John the Baptist. I thought the illustration did a fine job in bringing to mind the details of baptism for both those of us that have lived many years since our baptisms and for those that need to consider being baptized.
