Paul Pedersen’s sermon on “Getting back to our roots” compared the early churches in Judea and Antioch to our church today. Paul addresses the question of how shall we live after we have been saved?
Pastor Paul describes it as: This message looks at the similarities of two churches (Jerusalem and Antioch). It paints a picture of how the early Christians followed this process of repentance, baptism, receiving the Holy Spirit, and reaching out to meet physical needs and share the gospel. It is a simple, but challenging message. In talking about baptism, it also sets the stage for my son’s baptism.
Notable quote was “God’s truth becomes empty words to those that do not live it”,
Paul used the following scriptures: Acts 2:37-47, 11:19, Rom 10:14, 8:9

Paul,
Your sermon about getting back to our roots reminded us of the generations behind us. I vividly remember my mother reading the “Bible Advocate” with such enthusiasm. As a young girl, I couldn’t understand her excitement over it. Now, I find myself doing the same thing. Even though I lost my mother at a young age (50), she remained a blessing to me in my spiritual life.
Thank you, John, for your kind words. You remain a steadfast “Root” in my life.
The Baptism of our Pastor’s son was a special blessing to all of us. Thankful, too, for the Grandmother’s excitement over it. It was a good Sabbath. God has blessed us, once again. I appreciate each time we gather. . . God is good!
