Paul Pedersen describes this sermon as: Isaiah, the prophet, foretells the Messiah. He paints a picture of the Messiah. Is it a picture that we would recognize if we were alive when Jesus walked this earth? Jesus was not recognized by the Jews as the Messiah or as the Son of God. He was despised and rejected. Jesus was rejected according to God’s Word, and He went to the cross for our benefit…for the sins of mankind. In this message, I will discuss how this revelation of the rejected Messiah was for our benefit. We will look at how Jesus was not what was expected, and He was not from where He was expected to come from. Finally, we will see how Jesus, the Messiah, was despised and rejected. Ultimately, this rejection sent Him to the cross. May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Would we have recognized our Lord and Savior if we had walked this earth with Him, or would we have rejected Him as so many others did? It is a question worth pondering because He did so much for us and suffered terribly for our sakes. What a wonderful gift of Grace He gave to us! What a marvelous Savior we have!
