John Crisp’s sermon “I have earnestly desired” focused on the origin, history and Christian observance of the Passover. Starting with the Moses and the burning bush and the plagues God sent the Egyptians, moving to the birth of Christ and the Last Supper and then the COG7 observance of the Bread and the Cup and Footwashing, John gave a complete foundation to the emphasis given to this important observance. John used the following scriptures: Ex.12:12-13, Eph. 2:12, ro.6:23, Ro. 5:6-8, 1Cor. 5:7, Luke 19:5-10, Rev. 3:30, John 2:24, Luke 22:14-16, Luke 22:19-20, rom. 7:24-25, 1Cor. 15:57, and 1Cor. 10:16.

Good job with the foundations of the observance, I remember you did the same thing for last Thanksgiving. We appreciate your efforts.
I appreciate the historical perspective for the Passover and the connection to The Lord’s Supper. Thanks for your thoughtful preparation. ddm
