July 28, 2012 – Sermon on “The two faces of Paul and the Law” by John Brann

John Brann’s sermon “The two faces of Paul and the Law” spent some time determining the effect of Paul’s writings on the keeping of the Law. John discussed the various degrees Christianity has made in discarding the law and  contrasted scripture against this to prove that some elements of the Law are still in effect. He also underlined that Salvation equals Grace plus nothing, but developed the reasons we keep the Sabbath and other laws all tying back into the 10 Commandments.

John used the following scriptures: 2 Pt. 3:14-17, Rom. 13:1-2, Rom. 3:20 + 28, Rom. 10:4, Gal. 5:4, Gal. 1:9, Eph. 2:11-19, Col. 2:8 + 13-23,  Heb. 9:8-10, Col. 2:14, Rom, 2:12, Rom. 3:31, Rom. 7:1 + 12, Heb. 12:14

    John,

Enjoyed your sermon last Sabbath! You showed a good contrast between
where the law and grace fit in for our lives today.

Really appreciate the venue that Jeff has given us whereby we can
communicate our appreciation to the speakers.

Thank you again, John. I know that you spent a lot of time preparing.
    Gladys
