Frank Camarillo’s sermon on “Living on the Edge” was an encouragement for us to know that the Lord is ever with us and that we will at some time be asked to leave our comfort zone in the service of the Lord. Frank used Esther as his main text combined with anecdotes and stories.

Jody McCoy’s sermon on “The Good, the Evil and the Just” examines the Good, Evil and Just natures and showed how God wants us to yield to His nature and become good.  Jody carefully built his argument and some notable quotes are: “The default nature of man is a just nature” and “Jesus led in kindness so we could follow that kindness in kind”. Jody used the Christmas Story by Charles Dickens and the Otto Konig story about pineapples.

Dennis O’Banion’s sermon on “The Church belongs to Christ’s Family” examines the church, its relevance and place in our lives as Christians.
Dennis used parts of his testimony and how the church influenced him in his youth. Some quotes from the sermon are: “People look for what they want rather than what God has given” and “Church is the place where we encourage one another” and he ended with “Don’t keep your testimony to yourself”.

Michael Smith’s sermon on “Encounters that change us” was based on his testimony and used experiences that were turning points as examples. This included his marriage to Janet, his Springvale years among others. A notable quote was “Is now the time to put childish ways behind us?” Michael ended his sermon with a call for any unbaptized to make a commitment  to be baptized.

Nathan Lawson’s sermon on “The Kingdom of God” asked: What is the Kingdom of God, What keeps us out of the Kingdom and Why is it important to live the Kingdom life and how to do it.  Nathan encouraged us to realize how to live in the Kingdom today while waiting for the Kingdom after this life on earth.

John Arnold McCoy’s sermon on “How many times do I have to tell you?” was in part a tribute to mothers and in part encouragement for us to recognize every moment is important. Doug Klopenstein’s sermon on “Here am I, send me” naturally focused on hearing the call of God and our response to it.  Doug related several parts of his testimony and used many scriptures to explain his points. Jeff Kendrick’s sermon on “The Gift that keeps on giving” started with comparisons of the planets and the sun and ended with an appeal for those touched by the call to give to go into ministry. In between the structural nature of giving in the relationship between God and man was compared to the forces holding stars and galaxies in place. Special focus was on the teachings of Jesus and Paul regarding giving.

John Crisp’s sermon on “The resurrection of Christ”  gave us the next step from the Passover observance sermon Dennis gave the week before.  The sermon focused on the power of the resurrection and the  meaning this has to us today. Some notable quotes were: “it gives us hope and the ability to live a victorious life in Christ” and “Jesus’ resurrection generates our resurrection.”

Dennis O’Banion’s sermon on “Do this in Remembrance of Me” was a review of the Lord’s Supper, breaking it into 6 categories : Historical, Belief, Physical, Mental, Spiritual, and Sacred. Dennis stressed the spiritual elements of the Supper and foot washing. Some notable quotes were: “Are you and I taking His Word seriously?” and “How can we follow Christ more closely?”
