Mickey Banda’s sermon on “Handcuffed” started with comparing the Spring of the year with the Day of Atonement and focused on the comparison of Jesus and Barabas. Mickey used the handcuffs illustration to bring out the captivity that sin keeps people in.
Mickey used the following scriptures: Lev. 16:7-10, 15-16, 20-22, Matt. 27:15-16, Mark 15:7, Luke 12:18-19, 1 Pt. 3:18, 2 Cor. 5:21, 1Pt. 2:24, Rom. 5:6-11

Mickey,
We are blessed to have Jeff Kendrick in our congregation who makes it possible for us to comment on the sermons preached, as well as to listen to them if we want to. Thank you for coming to our church and reminding us of the bondage that we are in if we are without Jesus and His sacrifice for all of us. Perhaps we don’t appreciate the freedom we have in Jesus because we have not known the total desolation of life without Him. I thought it was good that you reminded us that we must recognize and repent of the sin in our life. Without this acknowlegment, we can’t know complete freedom in Him and the grace He wants to give us.
