July 19th, 2014 – Sermon on “Speaking Wholesome Words” by John Crisp

John Crisp’s sermon on “Speaking Wholesome Words” was focused on the words Christians shouldn’t use and the attitudes that spawn them. John gave testimony of his upbringing and the training he received and he gave us steps on how to purify our minds.


John used the following scriptures: Matt 12:36-37, Ex 20:7, Phil 2:9-11, Eph 5:4, Matt 12:34-35, Prov 11:22, matt 5:37, Prov 4:23, 14:3, 15:28, Eph 4:29, Ps 141:3, 19:14

    As usual, I enjoyed your sermon. That subject, “Speaking Wholesome Words” is something that is needed. We have a generation that is so used to hearing and using these words that they think very lightly about them.

    However, as you pointed out in your sermon, the Bible has much to say on this subject. It is a bad habit that can become a part of us. I think that our generation was warned against using worthless words. It is good that you warned the younger generation, as well as all of us, about the consequences of loose talk.
