August 9th, 2014 – Sermon on “Photo finish” by Jeff Kendrick

Jeff Kendrick’s sermon on “Photo finish” was a combination of two subjects: Overcoming the lusts of the eyes and understanding the dangers of the internet. Jeff used the scripture extensively to support his points and supplemented them with contributions from women regarding their thoughts on the moral danger of the internet.

IMG_0451Jeff used the following scriptures: Heb 4:12, Prov 23: 1-3, Gal 5:19-21, 1 John 2:15-17, Matt 5:27-30, James 1:12-15, Proverbs 7:1-27, Prov 23: 1-3, Heb 12:1-2, Phil 4:4-8

Jeff, I think you did well in presenting your concerns about the wrong usage of the internet especially in regards to pornography. Your analogy of Proverbs 7 to internet pornography was excellent.

Thanks for the encouragement John. I thought Prov 7 was going to work, but I got a bit concerned about how long it was. Ended up OK though.

You showed a lot of courage in attacking a subject that should be addressed in our churches. It is amazing how subtle some of these things are as they enter our lives. Thank you for the gentle reminder of how our Holy God looks at sin and how we approach these events as though they have no affect on us and our Christian walk.

God bless you and Jeana as you worship with us. We are blessed by your presence each Sabbath!

      Hi Gladys,

Thanks for the encouragement, I agree that this subject should be brought out in public in order to get all age groups aware. From keeping the sermon blog for these years, I think I can say that it as not been the focus of a sermon and maybe not even referred to.

  3. Jeana Kendrick says:

I enjoyed the sermon and comments. Great job!
