December 13th, 2014 – Sermon on “If” by John Brann

John Brann’s sermon on “If” focused on the differences between beliefs about individual salvation. He gave good explanations of the main positions and ended by emphasizing the scriptural basis for conditional salvation, hence the “If”.  Some notable quotes were: “God will never, ever violate our free will”, “If we hold fast until the end”, and ” We are not saved unless we remain in Christ and that is where the “If” comes in”.

John Brann

John used the following scriptures: Parts of John 10 and Romans 8, Heb. 2:1-3, 3:4-6, 3:12-14, 6:1-8, 10:23-31, 10:37-39

    John,

That “IF” is without question the most serious of all the questions that we ask ourselves. It is the one “If” that we should be totally honest about. You did a good job of presenting the question to all of us. We definitely need the Grace of God in order to stay close to Him. He wants to help us and is always there waiting for us to draw near to Him.

Thank you, John. We love you and Natalia and the rest of you Branns. You, John, have always been special to us. May God continue to bless you as you live for Him.

Johnny, I was unable to be at church the day you spoke, but thanks for Jeff putting together this great blog, I was able to not miss it. Robert came home saying what a great sermon it was. I too have to agree, great message!
