Gerson Gonzales’ Sermon on “Rest” started with a discussion of stress and how it can happen and continued with a call to refocus our concept of the 7th day Sabbath from physical rest from our labors to spiritual rest in the presence of God as was done in the days of creation. A few notable quotes were: “unrest is a big problem in our culture” and “resistance to God is a consequence of sin”.
Gerson used the following scriptures: Ps. 62:1+5, Gen. 2:1-3, Ex. 28:8-11, Heb. 4:1-10, Is. 40:28+31, 58:15, Ps. 19.1, Jer. 6:16, Matt. 11:28-29, Rev. 21:4

Thanks for coming to speak, good message!
I appreciated your message of hope and rest. I especially liked the part where you spoke of the 24-hour seventh day that we have every week in which we can worship and adore our creator, God. Thank you for speaking to us and for the encouragement you gave us to appreciate and value the Sabbath Day. In this stress-filled world, we all need to take the time to enjoy our Lord and our families. Thank you for the little card which reminds us of the Rest we have in Jesus.
