Paul Pedersen describes this sermon as: This message concludes our series in Isaiah 53, The Cross of Christ. The crucifixion was horrendous. So, why did Jesus go to the cross willingly? Why did God send His only Son? It was a part of God’s plan. Through faith in Jesus, we can join the family of God and be a part of God’s Kingdom. Through Jesus, many would be justified or placed in right standing with God. Through Jesus, our sins are washed away. Those who are in Christ share in Christ’s victory. It is because of this that Jesus suffered and died. And yet, Isaiah shows us that Jesus is alive! Because He lives, we will live too! Because He lives, we can face tomorrow with certainty!

One could almost feel as though they were suffering along with our Lord and Master, as you brought the misery that Christ suffered to our attention. It is a great wonder that God would allow such suffering for His Son. If we could only understand such pain, endured for us who deserved the suffering I am glad that you brought the sermons about Christ’s death and resurrection as we go into the Lord’s Supper. Thank you for reminding us!
