Paul describes the sermon as: Having the right friend can change the course of your life. In today’s message, we will look at David and a few people in his life that impacted him. We all need friends that will have a positive impact in our life. Do you have that kind of community of friends in your life? God wants you to have it. God also wants you to be that friend for someone else.

Paul describes the sermon as: We are starting a series community. This is a series that I want our church talking about. I want everyone to join this conversation. My intent is not to point out anything negative. Rather, I want us to consider God’s intentions for Christians to meet together. Community is necessary for the health and growth of all of us. In this message, we will begin this conversation by discussing two important ideas concerning friendships.

Paul describes the sermon as: People sing the song this time of the year: “Joy to the world, the Lord is come!” Yet, what is this joy they sing about? Do they even know it? In this morning’s message, I am contrasting joy from happiness. Happiness is temporary, but joy is not. Today’s question: how do I get joy that will last?

Paul describes the sermon as: Jude attempts to contrast believers from the sensuous men that were spreading false teaching. In doing so Jude gives us the keys for building a rock solid faith. How are we to build our faith? How are we to pray? What does it mean to keep yourself in God’s love? Who are we to have compassion on? How are we to save the lost?

Paul describes the sermon as: False teaching creeps into the church in several different ways. As a result, it is easy for us to develop a misconception of who God is. When we have a misconception of God, it lends towards a misconception of our self image. A misconception of God can also lend towards a dangerous view of sin. A weakened understanding towards sin also lends to a degraded view of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We need to get rooted in scripture, develop sound doctrine, and contend for the faith. Yet, we must contend without being contentious.

Paul describes the sermon as: What if you suddenly had an audience with Jesus? What is the question you would ask him? What is the first question to pop in your mind? In our passage this morning, there is a woman who is about to ask questions to Jesus. The woman is at a well to get water. A well can signify rest and refreshing. But, Jesus reveals to her that He is the true source of renewal and refreshing.

Paul describes the sermon as: Giving can be a joyful ministry when we do it Paul’s way. The Apostle Paul instructed the church to follow his example. Paul was a giver. Paul rejoiced that the Philippians were of the same heart and mind. Paul then takes the time to point out what they were doing right in their giving.

Paul describes the sermon as: What happens when we depart from God’s holiness? In our texts, the priests of Israel did not know God, and the Elders traded Him in for an object they thought would just make them powerful. They were blind to loss of God’s presence and power.
