May 27th, 2017 – Sermon on “Stand Up” by Paul Pedersen

Last week, I spoke about standing out for the right things at the right times in the right ways. Today, we will look at how Daniel stood up to King Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel pointed out his sin. There are times when we will need to stand up against something that is happening. When we do, we should do so with caution and with the goal of restoration.

Paul used the following scriptures: Daniel 4:22, 25-27, 34; Galatians 6:1

May 13th, 2017 – Sermon on “Plenty to Offer” by Paul Pedersen

Pastor Paul describes his sermon as: There are times when we do feel like we have much to offer to God or others. In truth, we have plenty to offer. What do I have, you ask? You can offer what you do have. Like the boy with the loaves and fish, God is pleased to use what you have. Second, you can offer Jesus. Jesus is the bread of life. He is exactly what the world needs.

Paul used the following scriptures: Romans 7:19; Mark 12:43-44; John 6:35; 1 Cor. 2:2; Acts 3:6

May 5th, 2017 – Sermon on “Faith to Walk” by Paul Pedersen

Pastor Paul describes his sermon as: We are finishing up the series, “The Path.” My prayer is that God gives you faith to walk on the path that He lays before you. For some, the hardest part is starting down that path. It takes faith to step out. This means having a big vision, but starting with small steps. After the first step, then take another, and then another. God can do big things with us if we just have the faith to start with the small steps.
Paul used the following scriptures: Neh 1:5; 2:17-20; Zech 4:10; Gal 6:9

Pastor Paul describes his sermon as: We are continuing the series, “The Path.” When you are on trusting God to lead you on His path for your life, God does not always show you everything, but rather leads you a step at a time. My mom used to say, “trust the process.” Rather, trust God’s process. God will guide you. When He does, you might go through uncertainty and even opposition. However, hold to your confidence in God through it, and He will lead you on His path for your life

Paul used the following scriptures: Acts 20:22-24; Psalm 119:105

Pastor Paul describes his sermon as: We are continuing the series, “The Path.” One of the most common questions in church asked is: “What is it that God wants me to do.” Yet, God is not a crystal ball. Rather God wants to give us the wisdom to choose the right path. We gain this wisdom by walking with those who have wisdom. We gain this wisdom by asking for it. We gain this wisdom by trusting God when we do make decisions.

May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures: 1 Corinthians 16:6-9; Proverbs 4:7; Proverbs 13:20; James 1:5; Psalm 32:8; 1 Thessalonians 3:1

Pastor Paul describes his sermon as: God has a path for us. We all strive to know His direction for our lives. There are many books written about knowing God’s will. Yet, what does the “good book” say? We will be examining what scripture says about God’s path for our lives over the next couple weeks. Today, I am presenting a simple idea: God says a lot more about what your character is supposed to be than what you do in your vocation. We need focus on who we are in Christ before we focus on what we think God wants us to do for Him.

May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures 1 Thessalonians 4:3

April 8th, 2017 – Sermon on “The real Jesus” by Paul Pedersen

Pastor Paul describes his sermon as: In the book of Colossians, the Apostle Paul confronted the Gnostic false teaching concerning Jesus. There were those who believed that Jesus was just a man. There were those who thought that Jesus just a spirit. Yet, Jesus was fully a man, and he was fully divine. Jesus became the perfect sacrifice, and he shed his blood for the sins of mankind. Those that believe in him will be reconciled to God and enabled to live a transformed life.

May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures Colossians 1:19-23

Pastor Paul describes his sermon as: Today, we will consider what it means to deny Christ, how important it is to overcome the temptation to deny Jesus, and by whose power we can be overcomers. Pter denied knowing Jesus. This servers as a warning to all believers of how easy it is to deny Jesus. We can deny Him by simply not giving Him every area of our heart. Ultimately, Peter was an overcomer. He went on to help establish Christianity along with the other Apostles. Peter ultimately went to his own death because of his faith in Jesus.

May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures Luke 22:54-62

Pastor Paul describes his sermon as: A virtuous woman (or even person) is a rare and valuable thing. She is valued. She is trusted. Why? In this passage, we see a woman who is a skilled and hard worker. She is a compassionate giver. She is respected by all. She is a wise teacher. These are all noble things. Possibly the most important thing, she is a God fearing woman. What can we learn from this woman? First, God must be number one in our lives. Second, God values work. Third, God values good character. We should all strive to be virtuous to God’s glory.

May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures: Proverbs 31:10-31

March 18th, 2017 – Sermon on “Mortality” by Paul Pedersen

Pastor Paul describes his sermon as: In this message, I explore one of our teachings concerning man and sin. God created us mortal souls with a body and spirit. Our mortality became subject to termination due to sin. Yet, Jesus’ death on the cross brought forgiveness of sin to us. Thanks to Christ, we will have immortality when Jesus returns. In a moment, we will put off mortality, and we will put on immortality. We are not immortal yet, and our mortality is fragile. Through Christ, we have help for helplessness.

May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures: Genesis 2:7; Romans 6:23; John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:51-53; 2 Corinthians 12:9
