Paul describes the sermon as: Jesus rose from the dead, and this gives us supreme hope. We too will rise from the dead and have eternal life. In Mark 16, the women going to Jesus’ tomb found the stone rolled away which was blocking the entrance to the tomb. They saw a young man, an angel, clothed in a white robe, sitting by the tomb. They were afraid. The angel spoke to them. We will examine closely what the angel said.

Paul describes the sermon as: Mary of Bethany loved Jesus. At dinner, she broke a jar filled with costly pure spikenard, poured it on his head and feet, and rubbed it into his feet with her hair. In this act, Mary showed a love that was costly and extravagant. What would it be like for us to have a costly, extravagant love?

Paul describes the sermon as: In Mark 12, Jesus meets a scribe who challenges Him to answer the question: “Which is the first commandment of all?” Jesus’ response is for us to love God and our neighbors. This does not give us an excuse to ignore God’s commands. Instead, we are to see the importance in who the Law Giver is. We are to also see what our motives should be in keeping His commands. .

Paul describes the sermon as: We are continuing the Mark Series, but are jumping back to chapter 4. Jesus gives us His peace. To the disciples, he spoke “Peace, be still.” To us, He says, “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you.” We can have his peace in our lives today.

Paul describes the sermon as: Jesus used children to illustrate those who are new believers or weak in faith. Jesus loved children. Jesus cared about the weak. Like our Lord, we should care about the weak in faith, encouraging them, and teaching them with our examples. Our lives should be seasoned with faith and holiness. Others learn and grow from our example.

We continue are series in Mark. Jesus tells a parable of the sower and the seed. The seed is the word of God. Our hearts are to be ready to receive the word. We are to have good soil that God can cause His word to produce good fruit.

We continue our series in Mark. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy. No other day has that distinction. Yet, while many try to make it a burden, we should instead remember that it’s a day of refreshing. It is also a great day for doing good. Let us make the Sabbath awesome again!
