Dennis O’Banion’s sermon on “Hell: Is it real?” or “The rest of the story”, focused on the reality of hell in the Biblical perspective and the perception of hell in the minds of the world. Dennis explained the COG7 belief in the lake of fire and examined the reasons people did not believe they would ever go to hell in spite of living a sinful life. Some notable quotes are: “there is the assumption that everyone is going to make it to the Kingdom of God” and “sin does not have consequences in our society”.
Dennis used the following scriptures: 2 Cor. 5:18-20, 1 Cor. 2:14, Rom. 2:4-6, Deut, 32:22, Matt. 5:21-22, 29-30, 10:28, Mal. 4:1-3, John 3:16, 2 Pt. 3:9-14.

Dennnis,
Thank you for your courage in attacking a subject that we don’t like to think about. If we neglect to approach the “Rest of the Story”, we get an incorrect assumption about our Holy God. He wants the best for us, and was willing to suffer and die so that we could have the opportunity for eternal life with Him, and yet we sometimes don’t take advantage of the offer He has made. When we realize the consequences of not turning our lives over to Him, there is no choice but to select Him and His wonderful offer.
I appreciate you and your commitment. May God bless you and yours. . .
