John A. McCoy’s sermon on “The Starting Line” used the analogy of the master caution light in an airplane instrument panel to illustrate how we need to evaluate all the reasons causing spiritual alerts in our lives. He went on to describe the blessing of a new pastor as not the end of a cycle, but the starting line with new responsibilities and then went on to apply the starting line effect to our relationship with God on an everyday basis.
John Arnold used the following scriptures: Gen. 6:9, Rom. 6:4, 10:13-14, Matt. 28:18-20, Eph. 4:11-12, John 9:1-3, Phil. 1:6, Lam. 3:21-23, Luke 21:25-28, Heb. 10:35-36
