Paul Pedersen’s sermon on “Be Bold” described the boldness of the early church and pointed out how the presence of the Holy Spirit caused the believers to be bold. Paul challenged us to be bold in our witness for Jesus.
Pastor Pedersen describes the sermon as: With the increasing pressure to be culturally sensitive, Christians need to counter with increasing boldness for Christ. This message speaks to our need as Christians to be bold for Christ. First, it speaks to how we receive boldness. Second, it speaks to the need to use our boldness to invest of ourselves into Christ’s Kingdom. Third, it speaks to the very character of our boldness. We need to be bold with our faith. This message is very challenging. We should not equate boldness with being obnoxious, loud, or rude. At the same time, we are not to be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Notable quotes were “It is not enough to receive boldness, believer’s have to use boldness”, “We need authenticity over boldness”, and “Believers need to use boldness bravely”
Paul used the following scriptures: Acts 4:24-31; Matthew 25:14-30; Acts 4:1-12

Paul,
Jeff pretty well said it all about your sermon. It was very challenging for all of us. It is a difficult balance between our Boldness and our Kindness. Some of us have a quiet disposition, but if we could realize that lives depend on our speaking up, we could overcome our shyness.
It seems that it is more of an uncomfortable subject now than it used to be. Our world doesn’t recognize the seriousness of the Gospel. However, that is no excuse for us to be less bold in our interaction with others. Thank you, Paul, for reminding us of our duty in this regard!
Gladys
Thanks for the sermon Paul,
I’m fairly sure that we are going to need more of the Holy Spirit in order to get bolder. I can see how the overflowing of the Spirit translated into boldness and bravery in the early church and as a result, the Gospel spread over the known world then and over all the world now. Thanks for stirring us up.
Jeff
