Paul Pedersen’s Sermon on “Jewish Strictness vs. Jesus’ rest” is described by him as: We are continuing the series: Following Christ. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus is declaring judgement on cities that will not repent. Afterwards, we see Jesus oppose the heavy burden that the Pharisees put on the Sabbath. Sandwiched in between, Jesus compassionately calls out to those that labor and are heavy burdened, saying, “I will give you rest.” Are you dealing with the burden of sin? Are you burdened by guilt? Jesus Christ wants to give you true rest. This is rest found in Him.

Enjoyed so very much your sermon regarding Sabbath rest. What a delight that our God, the One who created us, would give us a special day of rest. He knew that we would need this wonderful blessing and gave it to us.
