Jody McCoy’s sermon on “The battle for the Heart” is the third part in a four-part series.  In this part Jody explained the price to God that our salvation cost and therefore the value of our lives. He contrasted committment to God against being a friend of the world.  A summary could be made in this way: Recognize the payment that God made for our lives and live accordingly.

Jody used the following scriptures:  Matt. 5:38-39, 43-48, 6:19-21, 22:37-39, 15:8, 1 John 3:10, 2:15-17, John 14:21, 15:17-19, James 4:4.

Jody McCoy’s sermon on “The battle for the mind” is the second part in a four-part series.  Jody explained the way Satan uses a corruption of the concept of God is good to create a false reality where good and God are two distinctly different elements instead of one and the same. Once the false reality is established, it is easier to persuade people that Satan can be good as well as God and by rationalization, that Satan can be god as well since he is good, etc..  Jody established a new standard in philosophical comparison that is initially called “The Banana Morality” which may be interesting to the discerning listener.

Jody used the following scriptures:  Eph. 6:12, 1Pt. 5:8. Is. 14:12-14, Gen. 3:5 +12, Jud. 21:25, John 15:4-5

Jody asserted that we take on too much when we try to judge God according to our limited standards. God defines goodness. He ended with explaining how we get in trouble when we seperate God from Good.

These scriptures were used: Rom. 7:19, 22-24, rom. 8:13, Rom. 11:48, Mark 10:18, 2Chron. 7:3, 12:04-7

Mar. 17, 2012 – Sermon on “Desiring God” by Jody McCoy

This sermon by Jody McCoy is titled “Desiring God” and this can cover a lot of ground. Jody brought us from Israel in the wilderness to God requiring absolute trust regardless of the consequences to God bringing us into fearful conditions to reduce our resistance to His Will. We then went to overcoming fear through love, to overcoming hardship for God’s Honor. One of the key thoughts was to let others see God in you as you overcome selflessly. The following scriptures were used: Ps. 95:6-7, 2Tim. 2:20, 2Cor. 12:10, Rom. 14:8, Luke 9:24 and Ps. 23:4.
