Paul PedersenPaul Pedersen describes this sermon as: In this message, I talk about how Jesus is the lamb that was sacrificed for our sins. He is our Passover lamb. He replaced the sacrifices of the Old Testament. He was the silent lamb. He was the spotless lamb. He was the sacrificed lamb for our sins.

It has been amazing to see the fulfillment of this chapter in the life and death of Jesus Christ. Our text here is no different. I am amazed to see how clearly Jesus fulfills this passage. In this message, I talk about Jesus being dragged to a trial by the Jews, crucified by the Romans, and buried in the tomb of a rich man. This all was a fulfillment to this passage. Yet, His story is not complete without talking about his resurrection. Because He lives, we too will live. This is a message we need to tell others about.

Paul PedersenPaul Pedersen describes this sermon as: In this message, I continue to reveal the picture that Isaiah was painting about the coming Messiah. Jesus is that Messiah. He perfectly fulfills the scripture. Because of our sin, we deserve the punishment for that sin. But, Jesus took it for us. Jesus paid the price. Jesus went to the cross for our salvation. This is a salvation that is freely available to us today. Are we willing to say, “yes” to Jesus. In this message, we will see the Ministry, Mission, and Message of Jesus. There will be some complicated ideas that I will try to breakdown in this message. Ideas such as: reconciliation, transgression, and iniquities. We will also be taking a close look at the crucifixion.
May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures: Isaiah 53:4-6, Romans 4:25; Matthew 18:12-13; Luke 19:10

Paul PedersenPaul Pedersen describes this sermon as: Isaiah, the prophet, foretells the Messiah. He paints a picture of the Messiah. Is it a picture that we would recognize if we were alive when Jesus walked this earth? Jesus was not recognized by the Jews as the Messiah or as the Son of God. He was despised and rejected. Jesus was rejected according to God’s Word, and He went to the cross for our benefit…for the sins of mankind. In this message, I will discuss how this revelation of the rejected Messiah was for our benefit. We will look at how Jesus was not what was expected, and He was not from where He was expected to come from. Finally, we will see how Jesus, the Messiah, was despised and rejected. Ultimately, this rejection sent Him to the cross.  May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures: Isaiah 53:1-3, 2 Pe 1:20-21; Lk 24:25-27; Ro 1:16; Jn 20:19-20, 24-29, Php 2:6-8; 2 Co 11:23

March 5th, 2016 Sermon on “Sowing Seed” by Paul Pedersen

Paul PedersenThe sermon on “Sowing Seed” by Paul Pedersen is described by Paul as: This message concludes the series on Following Christ. In this message, I explain how we are to be seed sowers. In Matthew 13, Jesus gives a parable. A parable is a simple story from everyday life told by way of illustration and comparison. Jesus speaks of seed sown in good soil as well as in other places not conducive for growing seed. Jesus calls the seed the “word” which is meant to be planted in the hearts of men and women. I believe strongly in Bible Classes and Bible studies where the word of God can be sowed in our hearts. Yet, the True Word is Jesus. Jesus is the seed meant to be planted in our hearts. And, we are the seed sowers. Jesus gave us the job of sowing and watering that seed. As followers of Jesus Christ, we are seed sowers.

Paul PedersenPaul Pedersen’s sermon on “Growing Fruit” is described by him as:  I am continuing the series: Following Christ. In this message, I will be looking at the words of Jesus about trees with good and bad fruit. Jesus says, “the tree is known by its fruit.” We are to be like healthy trees producing good fruit. What comes out of us reflects what is inside our heart. Jesus says, “out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.” That overflow comes from the treasury of our heart. A treasury holds what is put into it. What are we putting into our treasury. The Apostle Peter teaches us, we are to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” So, we should fill our hearts with God’s Word and Spirit. Our words and actions will reflect what we fill our treasury with.

Paul used these scriptures: Matthew 12:33-37, Galatians 5:22-25,Matthew 12:30-32, 1 John 3:18, Romans 10:8-9,  Matthew 5:13, 2 Peter 3:18

Paul PedersenPaul Pedersen’s Sermon on “Jewish Strictness vs. Jesus’ rest”  is described by him as: We are continuing the series: Following Christ. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus is declaring judgement on cities that will not repent. Afterwards, we see Jesus oppose the heavy burden that the Pharisees put on the Sabbath. Sandwiched in between, Jesus compassionately calls out to those that labor and are heavy burdened, saying, “I will give you rest.” Are you dealing with the burden of sin? Are you burdened by guilt? Jesus Christ wants to give you true rest. This is rest found in Him.

Paul used the following scriptures: Matthew 11:28-30, Matthew 23:4; 1 Peter 5:7; John 6:35; Genesis 2:2; Hebrews 4:9; Romans 10:9; Acts 15:10-11; 1 John 5:3; John 13:15; Zechariah 4:6; Revelations 21:3-4

The audio recordings are not available at this time, but may be soon.

Paul PedersenPaul Pedersen describes his sermon as: We are to be a Disciple of Christ. Being a disciple means being like Jesus. It means speaking His words. It means bearing our cross and following after Him. On the surface, it seems easy to be a disciple of Christ. But, in reality it takes a greater commitment than we may have realized. It takes faith. It takes boldness. It takes self-sacrifice.

Paul used the following scriptures:  Matthew 10:24-25, 27-33, 38-39, John 14:12; Acts 3:16; Acts 10:38; Mark 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 14:26

Paul PedersenPastor Pedersen describes this sermon as: What are the greatest moments in your life? When I think of my greatest moments, it might be my wedding. It might be when my children were born. And it might be when I moved out here to Pastor. these were all great moments in my life. What is your greatest moment in your life? The Apostle Paul teaches us in the New Testament that the greatest thing in all our life should be knowing Jesus. In Philippians 3:7-11, Paul explains how the greatest thing in his life was knowing Jesus. Everything that seems so important and so great to us is rubbish compared to knowing Jesus.

Paul used the following scripture: Philippians 3:7-11

Paul PedersenPastor Paul describes this sermon as: This message asks us to give God our all.  In Mark 12, Jesus is challenged by a scribe to what the greatest commandment is.  Jesus response is one that challenges us to give God our all today.  God wants all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength.  A few verses later, Jesus watches as a poor woman gives the very last bit of money she had.  There are times that God asks us to give him our leftovers.  Sometimes it is money.  Sometimes it is energy.  And, sometimes it is the broken pieces of our heart.  Are we “all in” with God?
Paul used the following scriptures: Psalm 103:1, Mark 12:28-34, 12:41-44, Deuteronomy 6:4-6 & Leviticus 18:18

Paul PedersenPaul Pedersen describes this sermon as: God wants our best.  From all the tithe that was given to the Levites, God still wanted the Levites to give a tithe of the tithe to Aaron and the priests.  Very specifically, God asked for the best portions.  He wants our best gift and our best effort.  Sometimes we do not feel like we have much to offer God.  Sometimes we feel like the boy that gave Jesus some bread and fish.  It wasn’t much, and it surely would not have fed everyone.  Yet, some of the biggest things that God has done began with something small.  Big or small, what can we offer God?  We can offer him our time, energy, resources, passion, worship, etc.  In Colossians, Paul says that in everything that we do, we are to do it heartily as to the Lord and not men.  So, God desires our very best efforts to be dedicated to him.  Let’s give God our best and let God do the rest.

Paul used the following scriptures: Numbers 18:29, 12, John 6:1-12, Colossians 3:22-24, 17,  Philippians 4:13
