Jeff Kendrick’s sermon on “Revelation: What is it and will it happen to me?” focused on the role personal revelations play in a Christian’s life. Jeff used the marine chronometer, the carpenter level and the gyroscope to illustrate his points. Notable quotes are: “When a Christian stops seeing Christ revealed, he is not paying attention” and “Think of revelation as an Edge in understanding”.

Elder Whaid Rose’s sermon on “Celebration of Grace” was a Thanksgiving service message that developed the theme of God’s Grace in our lives and in the Bible.  He said things like: “Thanksgiving is the all time holiday”, “Everything that we have, everything that we hope to be is from the Lord”, “Our hardest trials come after great spiritual experiences”, and Whaid Rose“God uses suffering to perfect His purpose and power in our lives”.  A long sermon by our standards, but full of humor and insight.

Frank Camarillo’s sermon on “Worshiping in Spirit and Truth” was a teaching on the part worship plays in a believer’s life. Frank gave his experience with worship as an example and used scripture to explain his points. Some notable quotes are: “God deserves to be worshipped Frank Camarillobecause He is great”, “Worship is not about where we are”, and “Worship should be life changing”.

Frank used the following scriptures: John 4:23-24, Luke 10:30-35 and other non specific references including an obscure reference to McCoy’s star system that has caused a bit of a stir. Perhaps comments on this would help clarify.

Nathan Lawson’s sermon on “These three men…Noah, Daniel, Job!” used the three men as examples of committed lives.  Nathan took each man and showed how he maintained his relationship with God in the face of challenges.  Some notable statements were: “Are you nathan2allowing the world to seep in?” and “no one can do it for you and no one can take it from you”.

John Arnold considers his sermons to be talks and he adds humor to his observations. October 4th, 2014 – Sermon on “Who among us?” by Frank Banda

Frank Banda’s sermon on “Who among us?” used his experience one night with a PBS television program about quilts to talk about our spiritual garments.  A notable thought was “our experiences are different, but the end result is that our spiritual garments are from the Lord”. He ended his sermon with the song Amazing Grace.

Praise God imageJason and Rose Rodriguez and Josh Cummings jointly led a service dedicated to the youth of the church, including 2 baptisms and special music.  Jason gave the introduction and welcome, Rose followed with the topic of “Rescue”, Jason developed the theme of baptism and Josh gave a sermon based on the roles we can choose and the value of God’s family. Allie Lawrence and Brooke Armstrong were baptized and welcomed into the fellowship of believers.
