Pastor Paul describes the sermon as : The empty tomb of Jesus always brings a reaction. After Jesus’ resurrection, 3 different people ran to the tomb: Mary, John, and Peter. Mary peeked inside and left in fear and doubt. Peter showed up after John, went inside and left wondering what had happened. Peter was rationalizing all the possibilities. John showed up, peeked in, and then went inside after Peter did. John saw the empty tomb, and he remembered how Jesus said that he would rise from the dead in 3 days. When we think about the empty tomb of Christ, we have very similar reactions from people today. So, what does the empty tomb speak to us? First, we realize that the tomb of Jesus really is empty. Jesus resurrected from the dead and is alive today! Second, the empty tomb builds our faith. The resurrection of Christ means everything to our faith. Because he lives, we live too, and will live again at the resurrection. Third, our faith is the victory. My faith in the reality of Christ’s death and resurrection hold me even when times get tough. The greatest critic of God could attack my faith, but knowing the reality of Christ’s death and resurrection keeps me grounded. If I truly believe in what Christ did, then this truth needs defended, and others need to hear about its truth. The truth? Jesus is alive!
Paul used the following scriptures: John 20:1-10

Paul,
What a great truth for us to cling to today. . . that the tomb is truly empty, and He lives within us! When we grasp this reality, it makes our lives worth living; and if Christ lives, we, too, will live again at the resurrection of the Saints. As Christ, our Lord and Savior, suffered many afflictions for our salvation, we, too, must endure some injustices as we live in this sinful world. Thanks be to our Savior!
Have a blessed day as you live for Him!
