May 14th, 2016 – Sermon on “The New Covenant” by Paul Pedersen

Paul PedersenPastor Paul describes the sermon as: Continuing the Faith and Law series. Paul uses allegory to identify two covenants. With the first covenant, the Israelites were under the law. With the second covenant, we are under grace. Now grace is not a liberty to do as we please. Some things never change like God or the 10 commandments. However, grace has set us free from sin and from the bondage of the law. Grace means we are followers of Jesus. We are born of His Spirt. We are free.
May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures: Galatians 4:21-31

    Paul,

The two covenants are a new way of looking at the “law/grace” situation. When one speaks of Grace, it is often in the area of we can do what we please. I think that is the reason we have a problem with it. When we realize that we will want to obey when we have the Grace to help us. . with the Holy Spirit along side of us, that takes the desire to sin away. May God help us all to be followers of Him as dear children. . . . Blessings on you and yours and our church. . .

    Gladys
