Dennis O’Banion’s sermon on “The Church belongs to Christ’s Family” examines the church, its relevance and place in our lives as Christians.
Dennis used parts of his testimony and how the church influenced him in his youth. Some quotes from the sermon are: “People look for what they want rather than what God has given” and “Church is the place where we encourage one another” and he ended with “Don’t keep your testimony to yourself”.
Dennis used the following scriptures: Eph. 4:14-15, Phil 2:12, 1Cor 12:27, Heb 13:35, 1 Cor 13:7-8, 1 Thes 2:7

Dennis,
I wonder how it would be if we didn’t have the church to cling to. So much of our lives is directed at the church and its members. I especially liked the part where you said we should ask what we can do for the church and not what the church can do for us. Our lives are focused on the friendships and fellowship that we find at Christ’s table. May we always find that sweet unity and peace that Christ wants us to have. Thanks for your words of testimony, Dennis. Sometimes we have to leave the fellowship for awhile in order to appreciate it. God bless you and yours. . .We appreciate you very much!

Dennis,
Thanks for filling in for John. I appreciated your sermon especially since it was close to your heart. A local church is the type of thing you don’t appreciate fully until you don’t have one. Jeana and I treasure the church.
