Paul PedersenPastor Paul describes the sermon as: Psalm 147:3 says, “God heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds.” Many Christians are suffering, not from wounds you can see, but from emotional and spiritual wounds. God wants to heal their broken heart, and bind up their wounds. In this message, I give five passages from the Bible which show us how to seek God for that emotional and spiritual healing. In summary: trust and seek God; humble yourself, repent, and pray; hope in God; cast your cares on God; rest in God.

May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures: Psalm 147:3; Psalm 30:1-3, 11; Isaiah 26:3; 2 Chronicles 7:14; Psalms 42:5; 1 Peter 5:6-7; Matthew 11:28

Paul PedersenPastor Paul describes the sermon as: In Psalm 27, David writes about his enemies, foes, and a mighty army surrounding him. Even so, he continued to trust in the Lord. David’s hope was built on a foundation of faith in God. It was further built in his commitment to God. David’s desire was to pursue after God. As a result, David was comforted by God being his refuge. In our own lives, when we go through our own battles and storms, we too can look to God for our strength. God is our hope even in the midst of the storm..

May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures: Psalm 27:1-6, Jeremiah 17:7; 1 Corinthians 13:13.

November 19th, 2016 – Sermon on “Be like Josiah” by Paul Pedersen

Paul PedersenPastor Paul describes the sermon as : We want to be blessed as Christians. We want to have God’s favor. God blesses those that are faithful to him. What would it look like to be such a person. In the book of Chronicles, there is a king that stands out amongst all the other kings. King Josiah was someone who “did what was right in the eyes of the Lord…not turning aside to the right or the left.” There are some lessons that we can learn from Josiah. Josiah was someone that sought after God.

May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures: 2 Chronicles 35:24-25; 34:1-2, 3-5, 14-15, 16-21, 29-32, 33, 27; Matthew 5:5; Luke 12:31; Hebrews 11:6

Paul PedersenPastor Paul describes the sermon as : This message wraps up our series of messages about our use of words. I have talked about the power of words. Words can bring life and death. Words can bless, and words can be like poison. I talked about how we need to fill out hearts with God’s words so that we too will speak his words. I spoke about being purposeful about speaking God’s words of life.

In this message, I focus on speaking truth with love. There are times when we need to speak truth to someone. When we see a brother or sister in Christ failing, God will put it on our heart to speak to them about it. Yet, we cannot do it in anger, frustration, or superiority. We must speak with wisdom and love.
May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures: Pro 18:21; Ez 33:6; 1 Cor 4:14; 2 Cor 2:4; 7:8-10; Eph 4:15, 29-30; Col 3:16; 1 Thes 5:11; James 3:7-8.

Paul PedersenPastor Paul describes the sermon as : When Jesus healed a group of lepers, only one remembered to go back and thank Him. I believe that Jesus would have wanted all those former lepers to go back and thank him. It is so easy to forget to give God thanks for all that He does. Perhaps, our troubles cause us to lose sight of how thankful we are. Perhaps, we just get too busy, and we forget to give thanks to God. In this season of remembering how thankful we are, we can turn our eyes to a Savior Jesus who will never be too busy or troubled for us. “Thank you Jesus.”

Paul used the following scriptures: Luke 17:11-19 (NLT)

We should be careful to neither speak or pay attention to gossip and slander. God not only warns us about poor use of words, but He also encourages us in using right words at right times. We are to be wise with our words, and when spoken at the right time, can bring healing to someone. These are words of life.May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures: Proverbs 12:18; 16:28; 17:4; 25:11; Ezekiel 37:1-10

Paul PedersenPastor Paul describes the sermon as : Words can build us up. Words can tear us down. As believers in Christ, we should be using our words to lift each other up. We should be encouraging one another. Yet, all too often, we also use our words for gossip and criticism. The Bible tells us this is not right. We must be careful with our words. Our Lord Jesus identifies that our words come from the source of our heart. Its not enough to try to change our behaviors. We need to be careful about what we are putting into our hearts. It is from the overflow of the heart that our mouth speaks.
May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures: Proverbs 4:23; Luke 6:28, 37, 43-45; James 1:26; 3:5-6, 9-12
Regretfully, there is no recording of this sermon.

Paul PedersenPastor Paul describes the sermon as : The words you say and the words you hear carry a lot of weight-more than you might think! In this message, the Bible reveals the importance of words. God uses words in creation. Satan uses words to cause sin to enter the world. Jesus is both the Word and uses words powerfully in His ministry. In our own lives, words are powerfully important. What we say can build someone up or tear someone down. In our tongue is the power of life and death. We should use our tongue wisely to build each other up as well as to speak God’s word over our own life.
May mercy, peace, and love be multiplied to you.

Paul used the following scriptures: Proverbs 18:21; Matthew 12:36-37; Genesis 1:3-5; Genesis 3:1; John 1:1-5; Mark 1:38; Luke 4:18-19

Paul PedersenPastor Paul describes this sermon as: The Apostle Paul was aware of the struggles within himself. There was a battle in which sin constantly tried to sink its claws into his soul. Paul points out that the Law which was righteously given by God served to point out this sin in our lives. Humanity lies to itself about this sin: that we can control it and overcome it. Yet, Paul points out that we have a source of victory of sin: Jesus Christ our Lord!

Paul used the following scripture: Romans 7:14-25
